Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and all that, from the President and his band of little
elves. We will be congregating @ the President’s house on December 2nd, so be there for the Holiday Cheer and bring your best home made or Costco dessert, should you choose.
According to Social Director Chris Cabrera, this is going to be one rockin’, stompin’ and happening blowout. The word “Epic” gets thrown around a lot these days but there is no question that it applies to this EPIC December 2nd Holiday THROWDOWN (according to Chris Cabrera anyway…).
Come One! Come All!
WHEN: Friday, December 2nd, 6PM til ??
WHERE: Kobus Residence
1165 North Easley Canyon Road
Glendora, CA
WHY: Because we have to spend the money in the treasury
It was not actually raining inside of Denny’s. Except it was apparently raining cash for Matt Jester, Chris Cabrera and Brent Tsuda for their stellar sweep of the top three spots on the Fall 2010 GTA ladder. Congrats, fellas, and don’t spend it all in one place. As always winners are free to donate their winning directly back to the Board. Just sayin’

With our President absent and our Treasurer sidelined after shoulder surgery, board members Mike Patton and Chris Cabrera came through in the clutch. Patton led the way with 20 points this week. Chris Cabrera also scored well with 21 points in a blatant but ultimately unsuccessful attempt to show up Mike P.

FROM BOB NAZY (may 16, 2010)
Also, you may want to mention the following GTA players played on USTA teams that won USTA Mixed Doubles Sectionals championships today. They are going to represent Southern CA at the USTA Nationals for Mixed Leagues in Tucson, AZ, Nov. 19-21, 2010:
Juan Ramirez and Adriana Pineda (won the Southern California Mixed 6.0 Championship on the San Gabriel Valley team from Whittier Narrows, Double Trouble by defeating the Pacific Flyers from Ventura 3-0 in the finals today at Lakewood, CA)
Tai Sisson, John Burke, and Bob Nazy (won the Southern California Mixed 8.0 Championship on the San Gabriel Valley team from Arcadia by defeating the Orange County Team from Los Caballeros 3-0 today at Lakewood, CA)
Congrats to all!
In cloistered meetings between Arcadia Tennis President Andy Chang and Glendora Tennis Association’s Social Director Chris Cabrera (leading Mr. Chang and everyone else around to believe that he is the GTA president), ground rules of the match between Glendora and Arcadia are hammered out.
And below, the two men celebrate a back room deal that ensures they will both be able to take credit for the event’s flawless organization. Meanwhile Michael Chu looks on, wondering why he has to sit out the first round.
More later as pictures, video and eyewitness accounts of the clash and camaraderie between SGV tennis clubs unfolded on a partly sunny day at Arcadia Park in the Spring of 2010.
The Secretarial Department is in the process or transforming the GTA website such that it will be able to conform to the growing needs of the GTA nation. This process should be completed sometime this week (or year) but our staff is working diligently to ensure the smoothest possible transition
